Common questions
Does HoneyBook pay second shooters?
No. Every payment feature in HoneyBook moves money from your client to you. It has no facility for paying a second shooter, assistant or editor, and no crew roster to pay them from.
Is bckendIQ more expensive than HoneyBook?
At the entry tier bckendIQ is cheaper: $89 a month for 3 seats against HoneyBook Premium at $109 a month. HoneyBook Premium includes unlimited team members, so a studio with more than about 12 people and no need for crew tracking will pay less on HoneyBook. bckendIQ charges for seats only on the crew layer, which HoneyBook does not offer at any price.
Can I use both?
Yes, and some studios should. Keep HoneyBook for the client relationship and use bckendIQ for crew scheduling, attendance and pay. Nothing forces you to migrate the client side to start using the crew side.
Does bckendIQ actually send money to my crew?
Not yet. bckendIQ calculates exactly what each person is owed from verified attendance and review, locks the amount to the cent, and produces a payslip. You then pay by your existing method and mark it paid. A direct disbursement rail is planned, not shipped.
