RAW files open full size, and follow-ups come drafted

· 5 min read · 24 changes

This week was about the work around the shoot. RAW files now open full size in a gallery, follow-ups arrive written for you to send, and Financials can finally tell you what the enquiries you lost were worth.

Costs get a page of their own, paid bookings hand their edits to the right editor, and crew now clock out at the venue as well as in. Here is everything, story by story.

Drop in a RAW, get a full-size JPEG

On Galleries and Guest Gallery, each RAW is now converted on your own computer into a full-size JPEG, matched to the camera's own look. The RAW itself never leaves your machine.

Follow-ups, drafted. You press send

In the follow-up composer, the new AI draft writes a fresh email or WhatsApp from the lead's record and last messages. It's only a draft: edit it, ask for another, and send it yourself.

What your lost enquiries were worth, and why

Marking a lead lost now asks why, and Finance shows what your lost enquiries were worth, reason by reason. If most were lost on price, it tells you plainly.

Record your costs in Financials

Edits plan themselves, and editors hear before they're late

Paid bookings hand edits to whoever your staff list says edits, move them when the shoot moves, and tell you when a plan can't be met. Editors are reminded two days before a due date.

Clocking out is checked against the venue too

Crew now have to be at the venue to clock out, just as they do to clock in. Anyone who has already left is clocked out automatically when the shift ends.

Financials

  • Payment dates now move with the booking

“On booking” now means the day the client actually pays, and “14 days before the shoot” moves when the shoot does. Nothing falls due before they have booked, and a date you pick stays put.

  • Clients can tell you they've sent the transfer

The client's pay page now always offers “I've sent the transfer”, with an optional screenshot. You see it on the lead and client pages, and record the payment right there.

Leads

  • Pop-ups: free consultations, and who came from ads

Build a pop-up from sections, with checkout optional, so it can offer a free consultation instead. Everyone who leaves details is kept in Marketing, and Results shows who came from ads.

Clients

  • The client's Invoice tab shows their actual invoice

Open a client's Invoice tab to see the exact document they received, with the signed agreement on top. A client who was never invoiced gets a Sales order button.

  • Every date on a booking can now be edited

Enquiry and booking dates are now pickers, the save-the-date takes a name and hours, and quotes gain “Add another date”. Move the wedding and the lead's date follows.

  • The Clients list shows when each event is

Each client now shows when the event is, “Sat, Oct 10 · 3 pm, in 5 days”, with Gallery, Projects and WhatsApp in straight columns. Tap a row to open the client.

  • Smaller fixes for clients and galleries

Two couples sharing a planner's email now stay two clients, and renaming a job renames its galleries. Your own sign-in code opens a client's portal, and the proof letter's calendar reads in dark mode.

Galleries

  • Portrait films play whole in the gallery banner

A film that doesn't fit the banner's shape now plays whole, side by side with others, instead of being cropped and stretched. First visits on a good line get the sharp version.

  • Keep adding photos while a batch uploads

On Galleries, pick more photos mid-upload and they go up beside the first batch, under one bar. New photos now arrive with their shape and thumbnails straight away.

  • Watermarked galleries never hand out the clean original

On a proof set, or a gallery with your logo or smaller downloads, clients now receive only the stamped preview. The clean full-size file is never sent to their browser.

Field Jobs

  • Contractors and guest crew, on one page

Contractors is now one page with two tabs, Contractors and Guest contractors. A contractor is paid per shoot, a fully staffed event takes nobody else, and pay can be set in any currency.

  • Shift reminders show the right local time

Crew reminders now show the shift's own local time and come from your studio's name. When a start time moves, the crew is told once, with the old and new time.

Performance

  • One-tap clock-in when staff open the app

Open bckendIQ mid-workday without clocking in and a pop-up offers one tap to clock in. Clock reminders now stay in the app and no longer arrive by email.

  • Scorecards: staff write wins, managers score and approve

The weekly scorecard starts from last week's numbers, each set with a slider. Staff write their wins and what to improve; the manager adjusts any score and approves.

  • Promote now offers every job role

Promote now lists every job role, Videographer and Photographer included, and an hourly hire's offer letter says “Hourly rate”. Only the Owner can approve their own pay or hours.

Projects

  • A new task goes to whoever owns the timeline

A new task goes to the person whose timeline it's on, and follows when the project moves to someone else. On a phone, the project page opens straight onto adding tasks.

Sign-in & security
