Record who really worked the shoot
Crew clock in and out for each session on the shoot day. For each person, the app keeps the planned hours next to the real hours. So extra time shows up on the day, not weeks later at pay time. These recorded hours are what the app uses to work out pay.
Sessions, not one long day
A shoot is split into sessions. For a wedding that might be getting ready, the ceremony and the party. For a video shoot it might be setup, filming and wrap. Hours are recorded per session, so they can be checked. One number for a whole day is a number nobody can check.
People record their own times
Each crew member records their own start and end times and can see them. People argue far less about times they recorded and can check themselves.
Extra time is a decision, not a surprise
When a session runs long, you say yes or no to the extra hours, and why. The app records that. Extra time agreed on the day is a chat. Extra time found in a spreadsheet three weeks later is an argument.
