How the app works out what each person is owed
What each crew member is owed comes from three things. The hours recorded on the shoot, the rate agreed for that job, and any extra hours you said yes to. The app then stores it as an exact number of cents and locks it. So the number cannot drift later. bckendIQ works out and records the amount. It does not send the money.
Where the number comes from
The chain is short. The slot the person claimed. The sessions they worked. The clock-in and clock-out times for those sessions. Any extra hours you agreed. And the agreed rate. Every step can be seen, so the total holds up when someone asks about it.
Whole cents, locked
Amounts are kept as whole cents, not decimals. So rounding happens once and cannot pile up. Once pay is final for a pay period, it is locked. Money records are never fully deleted.
bckendIQ does not send the money
This is worth saying plainly. The app makes the amount and the payslip. You pay by your own method: bank transfer, PayPal, or whatever you already use. Then you mark it paid. Sending the money from inside the app is planned. It is not built yet.
A note on holding back pay
Check that the agreed photos or film arrived before you pay. Holding back pay a freelancer has earned because you did not like the quality is a different thing. In some places that carries real legal risk. Ask an employment lawyer where you work.
Common questions
Does bckendIQ pay my crew for me?
No. It works out exactly what each person is owed, locks the number and makes a payslip. You send the money your own way and mark it paid.
Does bckendIQ file 1099 forms?
No. Tax forms for freelancers are not built in. bckendIQ records what you paid each person, which is what those forms need.
